Jamaica Rum Festival date announced

Highlighting the heritage of our beloved Jcan rums is the plan for the fourth staging of the 2022 Jamaica Rum Festival.

With this iteration, the organisers are intent on boosting brand Jamaica by enhancing the culture and amazing qualities of our island Jamaica.

The launch, hosted by Debbie Bissoon provided a platform for Jimmy ‘Clement’ Lawrence, chair of the Spirits Pool, to remind guests why Jamaican rum is consistently a sought-after spirit, the world over.

Formalities aside, however, festival director Válon Thorpe announced that the fourth staging of the sought-after calendar event will be held in the second city.

On Saturday, June 25, the annual Rum Festival will be staged at the Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay.

But, Kingstonians will get a taste of the festival with pop-up locations ’round town.

In addition to other updates, Minister Ed Bartlett mentioned that the government will be spending a million dollars on the upgrade of Devon House and other local infrastructure, and investing and promoting several Jamaican-owned festivals and cultural events.
